Military caps

In the recently held one-day international cricket match between India and Australia, the Indian cricket team wore military caps to show solidarity with their armed forces.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Pakistan’s cricket team wearing military caps during international matches to send a message of support to its armed forces.

Sport is a symbol of peace. Even during the Olympics, the participating countries keep all their hostilities on the side. Mega events like the World Cups bring teams together to show unity and erase the very concept of aggression.

While the Indian media commended the team, such gestures shouldn’t be repeated on the field.
