Five held for murdering couple

Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five suspects for their alleged involvement in the murder of a couple in Mustafa Taj Colony, Korangi.

Police officials said Farhan, Aslam, Shoaib, Sunny and Dada were involved in the murder of 60-year-old Muhammad Shahid Khan and his 50-year-old wife Shamim Bibi, who were slaughtered on April 5, 2018. The suspects then doused the house in petrol and set it on fire before fleeing. The police said that the suspects were killed over a personal dispute.

‘Street criminal’ held

The Bahadurabad police arrested a suspect who was involved in over 100 cases of street crime. During the initial investigation, the suspect told the police that he was a son of a policeman and was involved in over 100 cases of street crime in various parts of the city, including Jamshed Quarters, Ferozabad and Bahadurabad. The police were looking to arrest his absconding companions.
