MULTAN: The City District Government on Tuesday sealed several illegal van stands and impounded 15 vehicles during a crackdown here.
Road Transport Authority Secretary Kamran Bokhari led the operation against illegal van stands besides impounding 15 vehicles. The administration also imposed Rs 15,000 fine on them.
The administration had sealed the entry and exit routes of the city during the crackdown. The special team carried out the operation on Vehari Road and fined commercial vehicles for violation of the rules. Later, talking to journalists, Kamran Bokhari said that DC Mudassar Riaz Malik had ordered the crackdown.
He said that no transport would be allowed overcharging. He said that the administration had decided that no illegal wagon stand would operate in Multan. He said that strict action would be taken against the transporters involved in overcharging.
