A fire broke out at a dry cleaner shop in the Ferozabad area of the city on Sunday. A spokesperson for the fire brigade said the dry cleaner shop was located on Allama Iqbal Road in Ferozabad. The spokesperson added that upon receiving information, two fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the fire site to put out the blaze.
The firefighters managed to extinguish the flames with their efforts continuing for one hour. No loss of life was reported in the incident. The fire destroyed the shop completely and its cause is yet to be ascertained, the spokesperson said, adding that a short circuit had apparently caused the fire.
Fast-food outlet
A fast-food shop on Tariq Road was gutted by a fire. According to the spokesperson, the cause of the fire was yet unidentified. As a result of the fire, the fast-food shop was completely destroyed. Two fire tenders doused the flames. No loss of life was reported in the incident.
The incidents of fire are being frequently reported in the city these days. On February 26, a garments factory was reduced to ashes in a third-category blaze in New Karachi. The fire brigade dispatched three fire tenders to the site; however, they were unable to douse the blaze, after which eight more fire tenders and two snorkels had to be sent to the factory.
