A large number of doctors, paramedics and nurses as well as patients visiting the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) Karachi on Saturday took out a rally in support of the armed forces of Pakistan, and, condemning the Indian aggression in Kashmir, vowed to sacrifice their lives and properties for the protection of their motherland.
The rally, organised by the employees, was led by Executive Director NICVD Prof Nadeem Qamar and Administrator Executive Malik Hamidullah, while senior cardiologists and cardiovascular consultants, doctors, paramedics, nurses and common people also attended.
Patients visiting the OPDs and attendants of those admitted to the hospital also joined the rally and chanted slogans in favour of the country’s armed forces, vowing to defend their motherland with the last drop of their blood.
Addressing the charged participants of the rally, Prof Qamar said the people of Pakistan were extremely fortunate that they had one of the best armed forces of the world, which were vigilant on ground, in the air and at seas so that their countrymen could sleep peacefully and without any fear.
“The entire Pakistan nation is behind their brave armed forces and are ready to support them with their lives and money so that country could be defended,” he said added that the sentiments of people in Pakistan made it very clear to the enemy that its nefarious designs against their country would never succeed.
He maintained that at this testing time, when the enemy had amassed its forces on Pakistan’s border, the entire nation stood together with the armed forces and added that it was in the best interest of the people of both countries that tension between them ended without leading to full-fledged war.
Dr Malik Hamidullah said doctors and paramedics of the NICVD were ready to serve anywhere in the country, and even on the borders to support their brave soldiers who were guarding the frontiers with gallantry.
“We have organised this event and the rally to express solidarity with our brave armed forces and to let them know that doctors, paramedics and nurses were ready to go anywhere in the country to help and assist them.”
Malik Hamidullah further said the Pakistanis did not wish to wage war but if a war was imposed on its people, the entire nation would not only support its armed forces but would also take up arms to defend every inch of their land.
