Petrol shock

Coming on the heels of the budget for the fiscal year 2015-16, the increase in POL prices has come as a big shock to people. According to media reports, the government appears to be reluctant to take people-friendly initiatives in the coming budget. The financially-pressed salaried class expects some reasonable relief in the form of a revision in their pay scale and increase in salaries from grade 1 to grade 21.
Apart from this, budgetary allocations and spending should be enhanced and improved to achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Above all, upright and honest workers should be hired to deliver quality services.
