ISTANBUL: The head of Turkish football Yildirim Demiroren resigned on Thursday following accusations of a conflict of interest involving gaming rights. The Turkish Football Federation president stepped down after coming under fire for his company Demiroren Holding acquired the rights to operate Turkey’s only sports betting firm Iddaa alongside Las Vegas firm Scientific Games. “I am resigning from the Turkish Football Federation where I have been in charge since February 26, 2012 because Iddaa and Misli.com joined in Demiroren Holding,” Demiroren explained in a statement.
