Peace talks
After shooting down two Indian aircrafts and capturing an Indian pilot, the Pakistan Army thoughtfully asserted that it didn’t want to claim any victory. At a time when people from across the border were favouring war, our armed forces showed maturity. It is true that it is humanity which loses the most in war. India doesn’t have to look far to realise the catastrophe that is followed by war. Afghanistan is in the state of war for 17 years now. Generation after generation is living in a conflict-affected region and growing up to the sounds of bombardment. What will India achieve from the war? In a world which is already fighting a refugee crisis – where thousands of people are fleeing from their homelands to escape war and poverty – does India want to displace millions more?
