Fawad says has not resigned yet nor PM has asked
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Sunday said that neither had he submitted resignation nor had the prime minister asked him to do so.
In a message on social media, the minister wrote, “Neither have I submitted resignation nor has PM asked me to tender resignation, there are issues and I have raised those issues with PM...PM has always been kind to me, its PM trust and personal relationship that is more important to me than any government office,” he wrote.
Earlier, talking to media persons in Jehlum on the occasion of valima of his brother, Fawad said that Adviser to Prime Minister Naeemul Haq was unaware of issues. He also clarified having not resigned as minister. The minister said that he had reservations.
Replying to questions, Fawad said that he would have a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday.
To a question about Naeemul Haq, who, reports said, had claimed that Fawad’s resignation had been sent to Prime Minister House, the minister said that the former was unaware of the matter and he had not sent his resignation.
The minister said he had been busy with regard to his brother’s wedding and had not been able to contact anyone.
‘Exchange’ of tweets between the minister and the adviser to prime minister have been widely highlighted and discussion on media and in social and political circles. The difference of opinion between the two has revolved around the state-run TV affairs.
