Punjab A clinch Under-19 hockey crown
RAWALPINDI: Punjab A edged out KP A 6-4 following an exciting final to win Inter-Provincial Under-19 Hockey Championship at Shahnaz Sheikh Hockey Stadium here Sunday.
Comparatively mature looking Punjab A team team took lead and were seen 3-1 ahead in the second quarter. KP A bounced back to level the score 4-4 before experienced Punjab players bounced back to win the title.
Rana Waheed and Ali Aziz scored brace each for Punjab while one goal each was scored by Umair Satter and Rizwan Ali.
Usman Khan scored two goals while Asad and Roman were on target once each for KP A.
In the third position match, Punjab B defeated KP B 5-1. Member International Hockey Federation (FIH) Board Shahbaz Senior was guest of honour. President KP Hockey Zahir Shah was also present and witnessed the final.
