LAHORE: It was Benevolent that left everyone high and dry by winning the Quetta Cup here at Lahore Race Club on Sunday. Benevolent was expected for showing a superlative performance when the favourite Dream Secret, which failed to meet the challenge. On the day there were six plate races and the winners of those races were Bano, Qalandara, Dimple, Cameo, Khan Jan and Samore Princess. Unexpected winner Bano was followed by Baa Aytbar at second place in first race of the day while Public Fancy slipped to third position. The second race also had a surprise winner in Qalandara while On The Sport Win secured second position and Maradoma that came third was too a surprise entry in the top three. In the third race Dimple came first while Neeli De Malika lived upto the expectation with second place and Golden Apple became surprise third. The fourth race ended up in favour of Cameo was wholly-solely an upset at all the three places. Natalia and Lisbon secured second and third places respectively. The fifth race of the day was Quetta Cup and Benevolent, which was listed for a fluke , was the winner while Jabbar Prince was also a surprise second and Atlantic Ocean was pushed to the third position. The sixth race as believed ended up in favour of Khan Jan but the second and third places were a surprise with Wali Choice and Candle lit at those two positions. In the final race of the day, Samore Prince staged an upset to be the winner while Four Char Hai and Madurai Dixit were second and third respectively.
