A 57-year-old man was killed by a car in the Manga Mandi area Monday.
The victim, yet to be identified, was standing alongside the road when a rashly-driven car ran over him, resulting into his instant death.

LAID TO REST: Two brothers and their nephew, who were electrocuted in the Shalimar area Sunday, were laid to rest in a local graveyard here Monday.
The two brothers Shabbir and Naseer and their nephew Ahmed were busy in shuttering work in an under-construction house near Shalimar Chowk Sunday when Ahmed accidentally touched a high voltage power transmission line while bending an iron bar.
The two rushed towards him to save his life but both were also electrocuted.
FIRE: Goods and machinery worth millions of rupees were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in a factory in the Shahdara Town area on Monday.
Cause of fire was said to be a short circuit. On being informed, the firefighters extinguished fire.
Drive: On the direction of IG National Highway & Motorway Patrol Muhammad Saleem Bhatti, N-5 Central started a special campaign to check the vehicles using high beams at night on national highways.
Zonal Commander DIG Mirza Faran Baig while observing the ongoing campaign against high beams, said that many motorists were not aware of the fact that dazzling lights and headlights could cause accidents by blinding motorists coming from the opposite side.
He inspected the performance of field officers regarding high beams violations and appreciated the performance of patrolling officers for taking action against violators
