SUKKUR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sukkur, raided the Mukhtiarkar Nara office of District Khairpur and confiscated all the records of allotted land i.e. around 16,220 acres among the 764 farmers from 1990 to 2001.
The News learnt that earlier, the NAB Sukkur had written a letter to the deputy commissioner, Khairpur, demanding to provide a copy of the record of the allotted 16,220 acres land among the farmers from 1990 to 2001. Despite various reminders sent to the office of the DC Khairpur, the NAB did not get any positive response in the case.
The sources said that the Assistant Director, NAB, Sukkur, conducted the raid at the office Mukhtiarkar Nara of Khairpur and confiscated all the related documents.
They said the NAB confiscated the revenue and land records of the nearly 6,665 acres land, which was allotted among 267 persons, and 8,220 acres land among the 497 farmers and 1,038 acres land allotted to gas companies.
The sources also revealed that the land was actually allotted to political personalities under fake names and these heavyweights were earning millions of rupees from the land. They said the NAB Sukkur had received complaints regarding the issue.
Meanwhile, the office of the Mukhtiarkar Nara has confirmed about the raid and confirmed the NAB, in the presence of the Assistant Commissioner Waleed Mirza Baig, Assistant Mukhtiarkar Nazim Bhanbhro and Himath Ali Shah Superintendent, had seized record.
