RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa on Sunday said there was nothing more sacred than defending the motherland.
Director General ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor posted a tweet stating that the army chief visited the troops along the Working Boundary near Sialkot. General Bajwa appreciated the morale of troops and their operational readiness.
“There isn’t anything more sacred than defending the motherland. I take pride in leading an army which is ever ready to perform this duty,” he said. General Bajwa also visited the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday. He reviewed the state of preparedness of troops and lauded their high morale.
“Pakistan is a peace-loving country, but we will not be intimidated or coerced. Any aggression or misadventure shall be paid back in the same coin,” he said during the visit. The army chief said in case of any aggression, the armed forces shall defend the motherland at all costs, to ‘our last bullet and to our last breath’.
Meanwhile, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan on Sunday said the Pakistan Air Force was ever ready to thwart any act of aggression as per the nation’s expectations.
The air chief visited the forward operating bases where he interacted with the crew as well. Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan said Pakistanis were a peace-loving nation but if war was imposed on them, then they knew how to protect their borders. He also expressed satisfaction over the operational readiness of the air bases and the staff.
