LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz, who visited Jinnah Hospital on Saturday to inquire after her father Nawaz Sharif, received a minor head injury after being hit by a TV camera.
As per routine a large number of reporters and camerapersons had gathered at the hospital for coverage of visitors coming to meet the incarcerated premier. As soon as Maryam Nawaz entered the hospital’s main entrance, she was hit by a TV camera. In the TV footage, she could be seen giving a wince with her hand on her head. It was the ninth day of the PML-N quaid, who has been serving a seven-year jail term in Al-Azizia Steel Mills case, at the Jinnah Hospital.
Later, responding to reporters’ question about her reaction over the detailed judgment on the bail petitions of opposition leader in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif, she said it was victory of truth, adding that the season of victory was round the corner.
Later, Maryam Nawaz also tweeted a tweet by personal physician of the former premier, who disclosed that all expenses incurred on Nawaz Sharif’s treatment abroad including that of heart surgery when he was an elected PM were paid out of his own pocket.
Observing that he had known former PM Nawaz Sharif as his physician for the last 20 years, he further said “Never ever any amount had been paid out of government exchequer.” Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif also visited the Jinnah Hospital and met his brother.
