ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s top seed Huzaifa Abdul Rehman stormed into the final of the Syed Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan Junior Tennis Championships with easy straight sets win over Berk Ulas Enc of Turkey here at the PTF Complex on Friday.
The talented local lad won 6-2, 6-1 in a match that failed to live up to expectations. Huzafia displayed excellent tennis and did not allow his opponent to settle down throughout the match.
Pakistan boy will now take on Bader Alabdullah of Kuwait in the final today (Saturday). Bader Alabdullah overwhelmed his country man Essa Qabazard 6-4, 6-2 in the second semi-final.
In the girls’ event, third seed Aysegul Mert of Turkey stunned her opponent Ji Hyng Kang of Korea by playing powerful forehand cross court and down the line drives. In the second semis, Arina Valitova of Russian beat Sri Lanka’s Anjalika Kurera.
