PESHAWAR: The PIA launched air service to Sharjah from the Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) in Peshawar.
COO and Airport Manager of Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, Obaidur Rehman, saw off the passengers of the inaugural flight. He said that night landing restrictions would soon be lifted and Peshawar would get back the facility soon.
The launch of Peshawar-Sharjah and Peshawar-Al-Ain flights were longstanding demands of the people of KP which the PIA new management has met. The manager said that the BKIA, Peshawar project is in the final stages and it would be opened for passengers at the end of March.
Multiple storeyed car parking is also in the planning and soon work on this project would start which shall end the miseries of car parking. The flights to Al-Ain that were suspended in 2012 were also resumed. The first PIA flight carrying 159 passengers took off on Thursday.
The PIA would take passengers to Sharjah on every Thursday and Sunday while it would provide service to passengers flying to Al-Ain on Friday and Sunday.
