Woman dies of swine flu in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: A 25-year-old pregnant woman died of swine flu in Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) on Tuesday evening.

According to BVH focalperson for viral diseases Dr Muhammad Aslam, Farzana Bibi of Khanqah Sharif locality was admitted to the hospital two days back on the suspicion of contracting swine flu. Today it was confirmed she was suffering from swine flu, he said.

Two more swine flu patients identified as Mureed Hussain, 40, and his mother Haleema Bibi of Mohalla Bukhari Alipur had been admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, he said. The focalperson said now there were a total of four swine flu patients in the hospital.

GIRL DIES: A 5-year-old girl died when dogs attacked her in Chak 36, near Feroza in Tehsil Liaqatpur on Tuesday evening. According to doctors at Rural Health Centre Feroza, Anum Khalil was bitten by the dogs present in a closed oil factory. She died on the way to hospital.

COUPLE COMMITS SUICIDE: A boy and a girl committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills on Tuesday night in Basti Shahpur in Tehsil Khairpur Tamiwali. According to Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) Director Emergency Dr Aamer Mehmood Bukhari, Iqra, 18, and Mohsin, 20, were brought to the hospital as dead.
