Qureshi cautions UNSG over Indian move to escalate tension
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi Monday said that he had addressed a letter to the secretary general of the United Nations cautioning him over the recent irresponsible tactics by the Indian government to flare up tensions in the region.
During a talk show programme telecast by private news channel, the foreign minister said that they had raised certain concerns over the negative tactics applied by the Modis government ahead of elections in India.
He maintained that the UN secretary general had been requested to play his part for the de-escalation of current tensions created by irresponsible attitude of the Indian government after the Pulwama attack.
The world had been forewarned about the reckless Indian attitude ahead of elections there, he added.
To allegations of Indian side, the foreign minister said that Pakistan had given a very measured and responsible response to such baseless accusations.
