BAHAWALPUR: A notorious criminal was killed during an ‘encounter’ with police in the limits of Dhoor Kot police on Thursday night.
Sajid alias Saji of Tehsil Jalalpur Pirwala, Multan district, was reportedly shot dead in an encounter with the police. According to the DPO office spokesman, the gangster was involved in several heinous crimes and was being taken for the recovery of weapons. He said that his four accomplices tried to get release him from the custody of the police. He claimed that during exchange of fire, Sajid was killed by the bullets of his own accomplices who fled after the encounter.
BIKER KILLED, PEOPLE TORCH COACH: Residents of Chak Maddersa set ablaze a coach when it crushed to death a motorcyclist near Bahawalnagar on Friday.
The biker was killed while overtaking the coach coming from Chishtian. Later, the people set ablaze the coach and did not allow Rescue 1122 fire fighters to extinguish the fire. Later, two DSPs rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. According to DPO office PRO inspector Muhammad Asif, Maddersa police have registered a case against the coach driver and the police were taking action against those who torch the coach.
