Quetta beat Peshawar comfortably
DUBAI: Umar Akmal blistering innings of 75 runs of 50 balls guided Quetta Gladiators to a comfortable victory over Peshawar Zalmi in 3rd match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) match on Friday night.
After winning toss, Quetta Gladiators, elected to field first. Peshawar Zalmi batting first managed 155 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Misbah-ul-Haq (49) and Kamran Akmal (49) were top scorers for their team.
Quetta Gladiators bowled well and never allowed Peshawar batsmen to score freely. Mohammad Nawaz took 2 wickets by giving 25 runs in four overs while Mohammad Irfan and Gulam Mudassar took one wicket each.
Chasing a total of 155, the start of Quetta Gladiators was not good when Ahmed Shehzad was out LBW by Hassan Ali on the first ball of the innings. Shane Watson and Rilee Rossouw made 19 runs each, but the 62 runs partnership between Sarfraz Ahmed and Umar Akmal was the main stay of the innings and they took Quetta near to victory.
