LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal said future of Pakistan was related to technical education and Punjab government was acting upon effective strategy for the promotion of technical education.
Talking to a delegation of employees association of Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE), who met him at Civil Secretariat here on Friday, the minister said skilled workforce was being prepared according to the needs of the market. The target of preparing five lakh skilled workforce every year would be achieved. The examination system of PBTE is also being improved and the board will be revamped.
The minister said PBTE has become the den of corruption and it will be made free of corruption and politics. He said the matters of the board should be improved. He said it was deplorable that practical examination was not being conducted under the board.
He said merit was the only way of progress and prosperity and the government was promoting it. Aslam said incentives would be given to the board employees when they would show performance.
Every possible step will be taken for the welfare of common man. Additional Secretary Industries, employee’s association president Malik Muhammad Ilyas and others were also present.
