ISLAMABAD: A Karachi based "lead team" of anti-corruption watchdog has completed its homework for four "king references" against the main accused in fake accounts case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has prepared four references based on a term named "Fast Track Investigations" by the Combined Investigation Team (CIT) headed by Rawalpindi NAB Director General Irfan Mangi, revealed a senior member of CIT seeking anonymity.
A NAB special team has prepared first reference named "Park-Lane Parthenon Case" where former president Asif Ali Zardari would most likely be named the main accused. The second reference has been named "JV (Joint Venture)-Opal 225 case” where ex-president Zardari is the key accused. The third reference was named "Pink Residency case" by CIT with nomination of ex-president Zardari as main accused in the investigation. In the fourth reference ex-president Zardari has been named the key accused, added the official who is working on these references. Around 18 officials of NAB and three members of JIT are working on these cases in Karachi, he added.
These four references would be filed by next month and the apex court would also be informed accordingly, revealed the official adding that around 12 references against the key accused would be finalised in second phase of investigation where the CIT needs more time.
