The rupee traded volatile on Friday on account of increase in the demand for the greenback from importers, dealers said.
The rupee ended 102 against the dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market as compared to the previous closing of 101.98. In the open market, the rupee remained unchanged at 101.50 and 101.70 for buying and selling. Dealers said the dollar demand from oil marketing companies came into the market more due to which volatility in the local unit increased.
