SIALKOT: Embassy of Paraguay in Egypt Counsellor Miranda Augustor Valenzuela has said that exchange of delegations of industrialists and businessmen between Pakistan and Paraguay is essential to increase the volume of bilateral trade.
Addressing the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Thursday, he said that it was his priority to have detailed meetings with the business communities from Sialkot and other cities of Pakistan to solidify the basis to establish improved bilateral trade links as both the countries had not yet established their formal embassies. He termed Sialkot a unique hub of industry and urged the local businessmen and traders to contact the Consulate of Paraguay in Islamabad in case they faced problems regarding exports to Paraguay. He said that Paraguay intended to have active direct trade ties with Pakistan like it had with China, India, Thailand and other countries of the region.
Consulate of Paraguay in Islamabad Deputy Consular General Dr Rashid Mateen said that a multi-dimensional delegation would soon be sent to Paraguay as a step to improve the bilateral trade. SCCI vice-president Malik Naseer, Gloves Manufacturers Association chairman Muhammad Younis, Muhammad Ibrahim, Asim Shafiq Sulehria, Muhammad Ayub Khan and others were also present on the occasion.
