Rawalpindi: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Force Commanders Conference concluded at ANF Headquarters Rawalpindi.
While making a close-up talk at the occasion, DG ANF Major General Khawar Hanif appreciated the performance of Force in 1st quarter of the year, which yielded record achievement, in which 259 cases were registered, 307 persons arrested along with seizure of 2.3 Ton Opium, 2.9 Ton Heroin, 16.8 Ton Charas and 1 Kg Cocaine. He also appreciated present year’s Poppy Eradication Campaign, in which 1,216 acres of poppy crop was destroyed. He valued previous month’s raids on narco-suppliers to students, however told much more need to be done. He appreciated the regular announcements of anti-drug massages at airports.
He valued to open a UAN number, for maintaining direct contact with public. DG ANF upraised the participants about welcoming steps taken by the Government of Pakistan for increase in salaries of ANF employees. Force Commanders upraised that the pay-increase is a well-received step and will boost the morale of the Force; however DG ANF told that it should also correspond to ANF endeavours, which should reach beyond the call of duties.
