This refers to the news report, ‘Fake degree business – Pak company Axact cons billions: NYT’ (May 19). It is in the nature of crooks and organised crime to do business in a country where corruption dominates almost every organ of the state.
Who could have imagined that a country founded by men of integrity and character, who refrained from burdening the state even with a cup of tea, would have at its helm men involved in planned plunder of state assets. Our country was not created so that terrorists could murder thousands, indulge in extortion, kidnapping and sectarian killing, pollute the nation’s human resources and get away for the sake of political exigencies or for the rulers to have their families living in other foreign states while the country and its constitution are trampled upon and looted.
