The Sindh chief secretary ordered on Friday installation of electric meters at the Jinnah hospital and sought a report on the matter within a month.
Muhammad Siddique Memon issued these directives while presiding over a meeting to review the progress and issues related to the JPMC’s devolution to the provincial government in accordance with the 18th constitutional amendment.
The services general administration and coordination secretary was directed to formulate the rules of the JPMC employees’ service structure in liaison with all administrative departments and keep the chief secretary informed about any delay or negligence.
It was decided that a water supply scheme for all hospitals in Sindh under the administrative control of the provincial government would be prepared by the special initiative department in association with the planning and development department.
It was also resolved that the issues of encroachment inside the JPMC would be dealt with legally and the Karachi commissioner would be assigned this task.
The chief secretary noted that cleanliness must be ensured in and outside JPMC and also stressed the need for reactivating ambulance services of all government hospitals.
JPMC Executive Director Prof Anisuddin Bhatti briefed the participants of the meeting about the hospital’s state of affairs.
