Illegal gateway exchange unearthed

KARACHI: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to control grey traffic has unearthed an illegal gateway exchange in Mirpur (AJK), a statement said on Tuesday.
A successful raid was conducted against the grey operators along with the police and magistrate, it said.
An illegal exchange, comprising 64 ports and nine SIMs were confiscated, it said, adding, one person was arrested and is in police custody for further investigations.
The successful raids against the grey operators were made possible because of the continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by the PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic, thus, curtailing the loss to the national exchequer.
