Vendors have encroached on footpaths in different commercial areas of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi creating problems not only for the pedestrians but also in the smooth flow of traffic.
The shopkeepers and vendors at Karachi Company, Aabpara, Faizabad, Bhara Kahu, Raja Bazaar, Commercial Market, Double Road and adjoining bazaars have encroached on the footpaths. Most of the parking areas of commercial markets are also occupied by the hotels management and vendors.
At evening the hotel owners keep their plastic chairs in parking areas beside the markets making it a very difficult for the motorists to park their vehicles.
A resident of G-7 Ajmal Khan said this practice has exposed tall claims of the concerned authorities of clearing the city of all illegal encroachment as the same continues to progress in the city.
