The rupee declined its value against the dollar in the interbank foreign exchange trade on Thursday, dealers said.
The rupee lost five paisas to close at 101.86 against the greenback as compared to the previous closing of 101.81.
The rupee moved in the range of 101.83 and 101.87 in the interbank market. “By and large, the market was range-bound. However, importers bought dollars to make their oil payments, which put little pressure on the local unit during the second trading session,” a dealer at a commercial bank said.
