MANDI BAHAUDDIN: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Mian Muhammad Aslam Monday condemned politicians who are against the construction of Kalabagh Dam and are issuing statements against Pak-China Economic Corridor.
Addressing a press conference, along with JI Punjab Naib Ameer Azhar Iqbal Hassan, Kisan Board President Chaudhry Riaz Ahmad Warraich, JI candidate Riaz Farooq Sahi and others, Aslam said incapable leadership was not getting advantages from natural resources present in the country. He said such leadership had crippled national talent and economy. He said selfish politicians change their loyalties for ulterior motives. Aslam said some 171 JI workers had been legislators in the past but none of them faced corruption trial. He urged the government to sell oil according to international rates.
The JI leader also expressed his concern over collection of the general sales tax (GST). He demanded an action against politicians, who issued statements against KBD and were spreading negative things about Pak-China Economic Corridor at the behest of the Indian lobby. He flayed the government for not evolving a policy to handle 6 million tons of superfluous wheat crop in the country.
DG RANGERS: Director General Rangers Punjab Major-General Umer Farooq Barki Monday witnessed the National Tent Pegging championship held here at Rangers Colony. Commandant Rangers Academy Colonel Nadeem welcomed the distinguished guests. The DG gave awards and prizes to winners.
