KASUR: A man and his nephew were electrocuted when an 11KV electric wire fell on them owing to a fast wind on Peeruwala Road on Monday.
Ghulam Nabi of Pattwan Kalan locality and his nephew Asghar Ali were on the way to home on a bicycle in the wind. When they reached on Peeruwala Road an 11KV electricity cable broke and fell on them, leaving both of them dead on the spot. The Rescue 1122 controlled the fire. Reportedly, the relevant grid officials showed negligence in disconnecting the electricity when they were asked to do so. Relatives of the dead and locals also blocked traffic on Lahore-Kasur Road at DHQ Hospital Chowk for some time.
MINISTER VISITS WHEAT CENTRES: Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen Monday visited wheat procurement centres of Kasur.
Deputy Director Food (Lahore region) Muhammad Hussain, District Food Controller Majid Ali and other officials were also with the minister. The minister also visited procurement centres of Chunian and told farmers that all-out efforts were underway for them.
