SWABI: Holding the polices of federal government responsible for violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq Saturday said the people of the province should join hands with the provincial government on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor route change issue.
“Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak was ignored during the Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan. The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should join the chief minister to stage sit-in before the Parliament House in Islamabad against the change in the corridor route,” he told a public rally at Shewa Adda.
Criticising the government for its failure to overcome the electricity shortage in the country, the JI chief said the provision of amenities to the masses was not the priorities of the rulers.
“The people should elect honest people to get their problems resolved,” he added. He hoped the people would vote the JI candidates in the upcoming local government election.
