HARIPUR: At least six persons were killed and three others injured when vehicle of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate for tehsil council seat was attacked by unknown assailants near Toru Dhok village in the limits of Sara-e-Saleh Police Station here on Friday. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Haripur Ishtiaq Khan, PTI candidate for tehsil council hailing from Kholian Bala union council, Javed Khan, was coming back after attending an election meeting in Kailag village. He said unidentified armed persons opened fire at his car with sophisticated weapons near Toru Dhok village. He survived the attack but was slightly injured along with two of his companions. However, five of his guards and a driver following him in another vehicle were killed on the spot. The DSP said the family of Javed Khan had an old feud in the village and the attack was not related to political violence or terrorism.Javed Khan was rushed to the hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger. Four of the slain persons were identified as Shahnawaz, Ilyas, Qadeer and Sajid.
