PESHAWAR: A full court reference was held at the Peshawar High Court (PHC) in the honour of Justice Malik Manzoor Hussain who retired on Tuesday. The reference was held at PHC Court No1. PHC Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and other judges attended the reference.
In his address, the PHC chief justice said that Justice Malik Manzoor was one of the best judges of the high court and delivered many judgments in his short period of two years and one month.The chief justice said that Justice Malik Manzoor was on top while disposing of cases.
Additional Attorney General Syed Muhammad Attique Shah said that Justice Malik Manzoor Hussain was born on May 6, 1953 at Abbottabad and he got his BSc and LLB from the University of Peshawar.
About the professional career, he said that Malik Manzoor was enrolled as an advocate of the lower courts in 1978, advocate of the high court in 1980 and advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1999.
He said that the honourable judge also conducted cases both at appellate and trial stages.Attique Shah said Malik Manzoor was elevated to the bench as additional judge on March 26, 2013 and was confirmed as permanent judge of the PHC on March 13, 2014.
He was a special judge banking of PHC and member subordinate judiciary, service tribunal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.PHC Bar Association president Muhammad Fida Gul praised the PHC judge.
The law officers, senior lawyers, judges of sub-ordinate courts also attended the full court reference. The retired judge thanked the PHC chief justice, judges and lawyers for acknowledging his services.
