Accused discloses to committing crime at SHO’s behest

FAISALABAD: An accused arrested in the murder of Faisalabad Market Committee former chairman Ch Ali Asghar Bhola has disclosed that he committed the crime at the alleged behest of Batala Colony SHO Farrukh Waheed.
The accused, Naveed Ali alias Commander, told a police investigation team that he had killed Asghar Bhola with the help of Nafees Goga as he was against collecting extortion from commission agents. He disclosed that the SHO used to receive extortion from commission agents. He said that the SHO had deputed constable Tahir for recce of Asghar Bhola four months ago. He said that constable Tahir informed the SHO that Asghar Ali Bhola had left the house of a lawyer after meeting him in Abdullahpur while he (Naveed) with Nafees was chasing him. When the car of Asghar Ali Bhola appeared near Jhang Bazaar Chowk, Naveed opened fire on it, killing him and his driver Muhammad Siddique on the spot.
Accused Naveed Ali also confessed to killing businessman Shaukat Jatt and his brother-in-law on September 14, 2013. He said that the businessman had lent Rs 30 million to Mian Muhammad Ayaz, a friend of SHO Farrukh Waheed, and in return he had issued cheques of the amount, which were dishonoured by a bank. Further investigation is under way. It is worth mentioning that the SHO, who had already escaped abroad, has been declared a proclaimed offender. Meanwhile, the CPO has sacked the SHO.

Man burns sister-in-law alive in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A man burnt his sister-in-law alive over a domestic dispute at Chak 487/GB, Muridwala.
Naveed Ahmad allegedly sprinkled kerosene oil on Azra Begum. As a result, she received serious burns. She was shifted to a hospital where she died.

Two commit suicide

FAISALABAD: A boy and a woman committed suicide in separate incidents here.
In the first incident, Mudassar Ali of Chak l43/GB, Samundri, committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills over a domestic dispute. In the second incident, Shahnaz Bibi of Ghulam Muhammadabad ended her life by drinking acid.
