MULTAN: PTI vice-chairman Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi Wednesday avoided disclosing names of planners of the 2013 general elections rigging, saying the matter was under trial with the Judicial Commission.
Talking to reporters, he said the PTI had submitted proofs of systematic rigging in the polls with the JC according to its questionnaire. He said the PTI had submitted all proofs while completing the questionnaire that was forwarded by the JC to political parties regarding the 2013 polls. He said the PTI was completely satisfied regarding proofs and performance of the JC. He said the government had failed to launch wheat procurement drive and farmers were not given gunny bags according to their demands and they were being exploited by middlemen in connection with the wheat procurement drive. Qureshi rejected the government claim of procuring 4 million ton wheat. He said the government’s agriculture policies were against farmers. Qureshi criticized the directive ordering closing of shops and markets at 8pm. He asked the government to reconsider markets closing timing policy in terms of watching interests of traders and shopkeepers.
