BUREWALA: Different bodies of traders of grain market Burewala Wednesday observed a complete strike against alleged manhandling of family members of a trader by the SHO City police station.
Traders’ leader Haji Zahoor Ahmad chaired a meeting of traders of Anjuman-e-Arhtian Grain Market, Oil Mills Association, Cotton Oil Seed Brokers Association, Vendors Union at the grain market and the issue of the police manhandling was discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was told that SHO Rai Muhammad Akram raided the house of trader Haji Khalil Ahmad and misbehaved with his family members.
The traders decided to observe a complete strike on April 30 (today) and take a protest rally and stage a sit-in outside the Burewala Press Club.
Traders’ leaders Chaudhry Muhammad Ashiq Arain, Chaudhry Riffat Tahir Jamil, Haji Shahid Pervez, Chaudhry Muhammad Tahir and others also attended the meeting.
FILLING STATION EMPLOYEE KILLED: An employee of a petrol station crushed to death by an oil tanker on Wednesday.
Muhammad Nadeem, son of Muhammad Iqbal, of Chak 549/EB Machiwal, was standing at a petrol station when the driver of an oil tanker reversed the tanker and injured him accidently. He was rushed to THQ hospital where he died.
