KARACHI: Huzaifa Abdul Rehman and Shoaib Khan reached the final of boys’ under-14 singles in Subh-e-Nau National Clay Court Tennis championship in Islamabad on Sunday.
Huzaifa beat Aqib Umar 6-1, 6-2 and Shoaib Khan defeated Sami Zaib 6-1, 6-4 in the semi-finals.
In the quarter-finals of men’s singles, Aqeel Khan beat Imran Shaukat 6-4, 6-2, Jibranul Haq overpowered Usman Rafiq 1-6, 6-3, 6-3, Shahzad Khan won against Hira Aashiq 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, and Muhammad Mudassir stunned Muhammad Abid 6-3, 7-5.
In the boys under-18 quarter-finals Nofil Kaleem beat Aman Atiq 6-3, 7-6(4); Hamza bin Atif defeated Zaid Mujahid 6-3, 6-3; Barkatullah overpowered Talha bin Asif 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(2); and Muhammad Muzammil beat Ilham Khan 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles quarter-finals, Yasir Khan and Shahzad Khan thrashed Rashid Khan and Ijaz Khan 6-1, 6-0; Imran Shaukat and Abdul Rehman smashed Imranullah and Irfanullah 6-2, 6-3; Muhammad Abid and Usman Rafiq defeated Muhammad Muzammil and Muhammad Mudassir 6-3, 6-4.
Nofil Kaleem and Abdaal Haider beat Ahmed Babar and Sikandar Hayat 6-3, 4-6 (10-4) in the first round of men’s doubles.
