SHO suspended for releasing drug peddlers From Our Correspondent FAISALABAD: CPO Dr Sohail Tajik Thursday suspended Mansoorabad police station SHO Muhammad Sufian Butter on charges of releasing alleged drug peddlers after receiving a heavy bribe. Reportedly, the SHO arrested some drug peddlers and recovered narcotics from their possession, but later set them free after receiving a heavy bribe. A departmental probe initiated against the SHO under the orders of the CPO found him guilty of taking the bribe. FOUR IMPERSONATORS HELD: Muridwala police Thursday arrested four impersonators. In the first incident, impersonators identified as Ehsan-ul-Haq and Abdul Shakoor extorted Rs 5,000 from gas cylinder dealer Muhammad Riaz Fauji, of Muridwala-Mamoonkanjan Road, showing him as they were magistrates. In the second incident immediately after the above-mentioned incident, two swindlers identified as Wasim, of Dhudiwala and Zulfiqar Ahmad, of Chak 247/GB arrived at the shop of Riaz and introduced themselves as government officers and demanded Rs 10,000 from him. Riaz and his neighbour shopkeepers overpowered them and handed them over to the police. During police interrogation all the four impersonators admitted their fraud and they were booked under sections 420, 379, 419 and 170 of the PPC. FREE EYE CAMP: Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation is establishing a two-day free eye camp in Chak 105/GB, Khurrianwala from today (Friday). Eye specialists headed by Dr Zafar Iqbal Cheema will attend the patients. Free of cost eye operations would also be conducted during in the camp.
