KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has said Pakistan and Netherlands can enhance their bilateral trade and investment volume by focusing on new sectors including agriculture, energy and textile.
In a meeting between FPCCI President Mian Adrees and Ambassador of Netherlands to Pakistan Marcel de Vink, FPCCI President said Netherlands is the fourth largest foreign investor in Pakistan but the current volume of $756 million of bilateral trade between both countries is not reflecting true picture of its potential.
Pakistan and Netherlands enjoy good, cordial relations and have similar views on various global issues and business community in Pakistan gives great importance to Netherlands in socioeconomic development, he added.
Marcel de Vink said Netherlands had sent largest delegation in Expo Pakistan based on 52 members. He said Pakistan is the gateway to Central Asia and in last six months of 2014 the exports of Pakistan to Netherlands have increased to 24 percent.
The ambassador appreciated the role of FPCCI in Pakistan’s economic revival and assured best possible efforts and cooperation for the revival of Pakistan’s economy.
He offered experts training program for the business community of Pakistan to educate them in the ways and means that can enhance their exports and play active role in the export market. He also showed keen interest in various sectors including energy, textile and agriculture.
