KARACHI: Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) has been assured of support by the ministry of inter-provincial coordination (IPC), which oversees sports affairs at the federal level.
Alamgir Anwar Shaikh, PBSA president, met IPC secretary Ejaz Chaudhry in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss snooker matters.
The secretary assured us of full cooperation in solving the pending issues, Alamgir Shaikh was quoted as saying in the media release issued by the PBSA later in the evening.
“The agenda of our meeting included the IBSF World 6 Red & Teams Championship for Women, Men & Masters to be staged in Karachi later this year, special grant for the PBSA and the release of cash awards for Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Sajjad,” he disclosed.
“I gave a detailed briefing about the IBSF World 6 Red & Teams Championships being organised for the first time in Pakistan in which leading cueists from different continents of the world are expected to take part. The secretary was informed that the IBSF has circulated the invitation letter to all member countries and we have applied for NOC from the Foreign and Interior Ministries for the participating teams,” he said.
The IPC secretary agreed to arrange a meeting with the secretaries of interior and foreign ministries to expedite all the clearances, he added. He was told the ministry was working on releasing the cash awards for Asif and Sajjad.
