Finally, the PTI is back in parliament after spending over seven months on the streets and without achieving much except that the government has issued an ordinance to set up a judicial commission to probe alleged irregularities committed in the 2013 elections.
After branding the sitting parliament as fake it would have been better if Imran Khan had stayed out and let his other party members who were keen to remain members of parliament rejoin it. After all, the PTI claims to be a democratic party. It should allow its members to differ with the party head. The PTI has disenfranchised its voters by keeping away from parliament. Imran Khan should know that those electable leaders who are with him are traditional politicians. They are not idealists like Imran Khan. They do not want to change this rotten political system. It appears Imran is very much in the mould of his other party leaders. He should apologise to the nation for trying to choke the system through his ill-conceived sit-ins.
