Pen-down strike against proposed privatisation of Wapda

BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of workers of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union Bahawalpur circle on Wednesday observed a pen-down strike against the proposed privatisation of the Wapda and power distribution companies.
The protesters gathered at the Mepco Bahawalpur circle office and chanted slogans against the proposed privatisation of the Wapda and distribution companies including the Mepco.

Khan Muhammad, his wife and six-month-old daughter were on their way by a bike when suddenly shawl of the woman entangled into the wheel of the motorcycle. As a result, Khan Muhammad’s wife and daughter fell on Bahawalnagar-Arifwala Road, which caused instant death of the baby girl while her mother sustained injuries.
