The home department formed a joint investigation team on Wednesday to interrogate Moazzam Ali Khan, who is believed to be the main facilitator in the plan to kill Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Dr Imran Farooq in London.
DIG South Dr Jameel Ahmed is the head of the team. FIA deputy director Ashraf Alam, a representative of the ISI not below the rank of a major, a representative of 202 Survey Section not below the rank of a major and a gazette officer of the Sindh Rangers are its other members.
The suspect was arrested around three days ago in Azizabad, Karachi.
Khan allegedly facilitated the murderers of Dr Imran Farooq in reaching the UK where they targeted the MQM leader. He is now under the 90-day preventive detention of Rangers for interrogation.
