The fall of the Aden Port to rebels in Yemen should be viewed as terrible news by the whole world, especially countries in the east. It is located at the junction of the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea. All oil-producing countries depend on the Red Sea via the Suez Canal to reach Europe.
Countries in the Gulf will be the first to be affected. Millions of people working in the Gulf are from Pakistan, India and other South Asian countries. Their sudden repatriation would cause a great strain on the economies of these countries. This is why this conflict should not be considered as a local issue.
