It is a matter of shame for the governments – both the federal and provincial – that 20 poor labourers lost their lives in Turbats. What is distressing is that their camp was set up in the open and no security cover was provided to them, making them an easy prey for target killers. It is time our politicians realised that issues pertaining to the common man need to be addressed urgently.
This democracy should do something good for the people – especially for the working class that does not have the time and resources to demand their rights. In Pakistan, we do not follow labour laws and labourers are forced to work under inhuman conditions. Politicians are requested to put an end to their petty, personal fights and do something for working classes and implement a strict policy on minimum wage and rights of labourers.
