ISLAMABAD: The statement of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ahmad in response to Emirati minister’s warning has drawn the ire of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and has added to the troubles of the interior minister.
Sources in the Prime Minister House confided to The News that the prime minister has prevented all ministers and other government officials to give any negative statement vis a vis Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Senior officials have said that two key ministers of Saudi Arabia are in Pakistan which shows Saudi Arabia’s trust in Pakistan. A meeting was called late night at the PM House to deliberate upon the situation likely to arise from the interior minister’s statement. The prime minister has impressed upon the cabinet ministers that Saudi Arabia has stood by Pakistan in times of troubles and hence cannot be left in lurch. Further, the prime minster will himself talk to Chaudhry Nisar to advise him against giving such statements henceforth.
