GUJRANWALA: The CIA has recovered a two-year-old child and arrested three kidnappers.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, CIA SP Tahir Maqsood said that unidentified people had abducted Abu Huraira when he was playing outside his house at Mujahidpura in People’s Colony police limits. Later, the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded Rs 2 million ransom. The abductee’s grandfather M Nawaz informed police, who started investigation. On police advice, Nawaz agreed to pay ransom. The kidnappers again contacted the family and asked them to pay ransom at Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Chowk, Wazirabad. After passing on information to police, Nawaz reached the place. After receiving the ransom, the kidnappers released the child. In the meantime, police also reached there and arrested the three kidnappers with the ransom amount. During preliminary investigation, the kidnappers said that they were tenants of the abductee’s family and wanted to be rich overnight.
